Warm Audio's WA73 Family pays meticulous homage to this British audio legacy, offering both single and dual channel configurations that capture the distinctive tone and sweet character of vintage units.

Through years of careful reverse-engineering and extensive auditioning, Warm Audio has created sonically accurate reproductions that meet the exacting standards of vintage expectation. This boutique preamp serves as both a “Desert Island” essential and a reliable studio workhorse, demonstrating remarkable versatility across all microphone types - from condensers and dynamics to ribbons. The WA73 excels with vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, percussion, orchestras, and keyboards, while also functioning as an exceptional tone-shaping tool for partial or complete mixes.

With 80dB of gain and a fully discrete Carnhill Transformer balanced signal path, it handles any recording, mixing, or engineering challenge with ease. The heart of the WA73's authentic British sound lies in its premium components, particularly the custom Carnhill transformers designed in collaboration with the renowned Cambridgeshire manufacturer. These faithful reproductions of the most coveted early-version transformers deliver that fluid, forgiving nature and sweet saturation that made vintage units so desirable.

Combined with carefully selected tantalum and polystyrene capacitors in the signal path and smoother output transistors for high-gain settings, every element contributes to the classic British character. True to vintage tradition, each WA73 is hand-wired and hand-assembled, with even the PCB components populated by hand - a crucial factor that audio gurus believe contributes significantly to that sought-after classic British tone.
