If the car alarm is removed from the intruder, the alarm signal continues to sound thanks to the builtin battery. This provides a standby time of up to 6 days. The alarm signal sounds for a maximum of 2 minutes and can only be deactivated using the remote control supplied.
While the alarm is armed, the cigarette lighter basically serves only as an "alarm holder" without drawing power from the car battery. When the vehicle is started, the integrated battery of the car alarm is fully recharged via the cigarette lighter while driving (34 hours charging time).
