That gives you more versatility and more cutting potential for both softwood and hardwood with a single tool. This small Japanese saw can be used on plenty of softwoods and hardwoods too - everything from tiger maple to red oak, teak, MDF, OSB, and even driftwoods. This particular model of saw features teeth per inch of 17 and 25 TPI; 0.012-inch blade thickness; 0.012-inch kerf width, and a blade length of 5 inches.
