In the seamless interaction between the EX5 and ColorNavigator 7 or Quick Color Match, color and brightness deviations are corrected losslessly during hardware calibration.
Subsequently, an ICC profile is created, which contains information about the monitor's current color settings for color management. The EX5 colorimeter is connected to the computer via USB. ColorNavigator 7 or Quick Color Match then projects a series of different color patches onto the monitor, which are measured by the EX5.
This checks whether the monitor's color representation still matches the set target values or has changed due to factors such as aging. If an adjustment of the monitor's display is necessary, it is made losslessly in the Look-Up Table (LUT) of the ColorEdge monitor as part of the calibration process. A new color profile is then created, which communicates the current monitor settings to the operating system and thus to color management-capable programs.
This profile contains information about monitor properties and settings. Unlike software calibrations, this profile does not include color corrections that reduce display quality.
