MD foam surrounds most of the body of the shoulder pads, which makes for an extremely lightweight pad that doesn't sacrifice protection. MD foam absorbs pucks and body contact, allowing the player to keep skating and not feel as much of an impact. The molded PE insert in the bicep works alongside the MD foam, providing excellent guards against slashes and errant pucks.
